Today was better for vis mig with Serin, lots of Woodlark, White-fronted Geese, some Brambling, late Tree Pipits still and large numbers of Meadow Pipits and Chaffinch. Oddly there were no raptors moving before i left, when weather conditions seemed identical to yesterday....strange experience with 27degrees and White-fronts flying overhead. Yesterday was the warmest october 1st on record.
A local tv crew was present for Euro Birdwatch day, although it took them some time to find us! Rob Vogel from Sovon was the star of the show but i did get a microphone thrown in my face. Im not sure how long it will be online but check 'uitzending gemist' for '2 oktober'

Frank avoided the camera by heading to a local cafe to eat braadworst! Hopefully the photo below gives an idea of the strain involved with raptor watching on a sunny day from a deck chair?
